FACS Foundation
Since 1991, through the generous contributions of our Waterloo Region community, Family & Children’s Services (FACS) Foundation has supported local children, youth, and families to heal, learn, and grow.
FACS Foundation's commitment to early intervention and prevention complements the child protection measures of Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region, providing support to healing and prevention programs that are not funded by government.
Donations to the Foundation help address systemic inequalities and root causes of harm, which significantly impact both family welfare and our community. By building resilience, strengthening communities, and addressing social inequities, the Foundation helps to ensure the well-being of children, youth, and families in Waterloo Region. Community support is crucial for FACS Foundation to continue its vital prevention work as it is supported entirely by funds raised in the community.

Help Local Students Start School Ready to Learn!
The Back-to-School countdown is on, but for many families in Waterloo Region, it brings worry instead of excitement. With rising costs, essentials like backpacks, notebooks, gym shoes and calculators can be out of reach.
Too many children risk starting school without the supplies and confidence they need to fully participate.
The need is real: Less than 50% of children and youth in care graduate from high school by age 18. Fewer than 3% earn a post-secondary degree by age 25. These young people have incredible potential and big dreams, but they often face barriers that make educational success much harder. A fully stocked backpack can help a student feel prepared, included and ready to learn.
We believe every child deserves to walk into their classroom feeling proud, happy and excited to learn and together we can make that happen!
